Mi Note 2 on the way!
After the magnificent launch of their latest phablet Mi Max, Xiaomi is all set to launch the successor of the previous hit Mi note , probably in the last week of July! How did we get to know this? Well, a teaser from the Chinese company has came off lately which indicates “2 > 5” and some Chinese text in the bottom which can be roughly translated as “No love for losers.”
It would be too early to make out the deep meaning from the teaser but what we could understand from this is that it is surely related to the Mi 5; or may be it’s subtly indicating Mi note 2 will be greater than Mi 5 in terms of specification and performance.
Mi Note 2 expected specs:
- 5.7-inch full HD display with corning gorilla glass
- Snapdragon 823 chipset
- 2 variants: 4 GB RAM and 32 GB storage, 6 GB RAM and 64 GB storage
- 16 MP primary camera, 8 MP front camera
- 3D touch
- 4000 mAh battery
- Android 6.0.1
- MIUI 8

That reminds me of the leaked; or I would rather say heard said specifications of Mi Note 2. Unlike it’s successor which didn’t do well because of its unavailability in international market, Mi note 2 is expected to launch globally. The current tittle-tattle points out Mi note 2 to be a 5.7-inch full HD display device along with snapdragon 823 chipset clocked at 1.4ghz. Just like their (and a lot of other mobile phone companies’) strategy, there would be 2 variants of Mi note 2 available ; one with 4GB/32GB and the other one 6GB/64GB (I can see oneplus fans smiling :p). Moreover, the rear camera will be a 16MP shooter with a Sony IMX295 sensor and front facing camera can be either 5MP or 8MP. We also expect its screen to be protected by corning gorilla glass 4 and battery to be atleast as huge as 4000Mah; thereby giving user an battery backup of atleast a day and a half.
Of course, the phone is coming with a fingerprint sensor but what keeps it in limelight is the 3D touch feature it will be packed with. Yes , the 3D touch feature which every other apple fan is crazy about. To make you a little more aware of this feature , let me tell you what it does. 3D touch means the screen would be a pressure-sensitive, thereby sensing pressure of the finger on the screen. So suppose you want to clear data of an app you press it little harder or you want to uninstall an app, you press it even more harder. Yes , 3D touch does give you a little more accessibility but the same job has been got done by long-presses. What else is interesting in the upcoming Mi note is the leap company has decided to take in the specifications. As we know Mi note came with a 801-Sd chipset , 3GB of ram and a mere 3000MaH battery which is very less as compared to mid-range smartphones today.
Coming to the most important part here, pricing ; it would be around $350 for the 4GB variant and approximately $400 for the 6GB one. Anyway, it is unpredictable if Xiaomi will launch the phone globally or in the Chinese and Indian market only, which have been its key markets so far. We’ll have to wait and see for that.
